Indiana Jones takes "Wings over the Rockies"…

On Saturday November 14, Matthew Chetham (nephew of Front Range Airport tenant Paul Chetham) had the thrill of a lifetime when he flew with Harrison Ford, renowned actor and great supporter of the Young Eagles program. Matthew was selected as a co-pilot for the 15 minute flight from Centennial and has a certificate to show for it! He was overjoyed to say the least and we are sure he will treasure the memory.

No Plane No Gain

Business aviation contributes over $150 billion to the U.S. economy every year, and provides over 1.2 million high-wage, stable jobs. The vast majority of general aviation aircraft worldwide are manufactured, operated, serviced and maintained in the United States.

Even the handful of companies that manufacture planes abroad "complete" their planes in the U.S. We install avionics, electronics, automation systems, engines, paint, interiors and other aircraft components manufactured here in the U.S. by American workers.

American aircraft are one bright spot in manufacturing and foreign trade. "With their impressive performance and construction, American built airplanes are prized throughout the world. In 2007, about half the business jets delivered by American manufacturers went to foreign buyers that paid more than $3 billion for them. Manufacturers elsewhere, including in Japan and Germany, once tried to compete, but they were so utterly trounced by American ingenuity and craftsmanship that they simply gave up." – William Garvey, New York Times, Feb 1, 2009.
